State Still Cutting Costs

The state legislature met on Thursday and approved more spending reductions to bring the state budget in line with actual revenues.
According to the Associated Press, areas to cut costs included:
- Changes to the state pension system
- Transferring money from the state’s rainy day fund
- Cutting $4.1 million in legislative expenses that the Governor’s office doesn’t control
- Extending the deadline for cities & towns to get into the state’s Group Insurance Commission
